This Victorian family house was fully refurbished and remodelled to achieve a unique arrangement for a typical split-level terraced house. By opening up the ground floor plan, we were able to nestle a study between the reception room to the front, and large open plan kitchen and dining room to the rear, providing our clients with additional floor area and helping to maximise the floor plan of a typical terraced house.

A sequence of glazed screens frame the respective spaces and allow light to penetrate deep into the house creating a continuous connection between the principal living spaces and extending the visual relationship to the garden at the back.

The space is contemporary in character with a high contrast, monochromatic theme running throughout. A sophisticated material palette with clean sharp lines create a sense of calm minimalism, with accents of polished plaster, brass trims and carefully chosen designer light fittings and furnishings to soften the edges. The generous open plan kitchen and dining area is fitted with a bespoke stainless-steel kitchen and island unit, with dark faced, handle-less cabinetry to tie in with the remaining interior aesthetic.

The colour palette uses dark and refined greys which contrast the light painted walls. This gives the project a contemporary, yet homely feel. Rich blue tones in the bedroom and concrete look tiles complement the feel of this house.
