This 19th century terraced townhouse in Fulham has been comprehensively redesigned to meet a thoroughly contemporary programme: to provide calm and relaxing spaces for a large and busy family and host gatherings large and small to reflect the entrepreneurial and convivial ideals of our clients.
The ground floor is the heart of the house, where a more formal sitting room at the front opens into a central room on the stair hall past which the stair itself floats through the glazed wall, exquisitely detailed to mouldings, balustrade, and handrail to anchor the project in its sophisticated urban setting.
Kitchen, dining room and garden are conceived as a single space as one moves further into the plan: this composition pulls all available daylight into an oasis of interior planting, green marble worktops and natural oak joinery. This opens out in fine weather to an outdoor seating area, differentiated from the fabric of the house with long-format pale grey bricks on the rear elevation to create overall a room both generous in space and intimate in detail.
