Studio Jo Cowen are very proud to present this fully refurbished and remodelled mews house in Kensington. The spatial organisation of this property was fully reconfigured to include a central staircase, allowing circulation around the entire house.
The central staircase, fully clad in oak veneer, acts as a focal point; the spaces created contain fully concealed storage for coats, bespoke joinery such as built in bar, and a guest washroom. The meticulous detailing of the fully bespoke stair (with integrated lighting in the handrail) establishes a crisp and refined feel to the house as soon as one walks through the front door.
The flooring is a mid-stained oak, in herringbone, complementing the oak treads, and tying together the darker wenge veneer used to clad the kitchen cabinets. The custom kitchen island is finished with a luxurious polished marble, detailed to avoid any visible joints. A dining space connects the living area, which is fitted with bespoke joinery finished in a mix of marble and timber.
The location of the stair core gives the upper bedrooms even proportions, something much sought after in a mews house. Solid timber beams have been re-instated in the apex of the roof in the master bedroom, adding character to this beautiful property.
Bathrooms are finished with Carrara marble and light grey veneer look custom designed vanity units.
A mix of warm timber materials and marble, as well as reinstating original features and adding contemporary design, make this a truly unique and elegant home.
